Case 9

Name of the registrant is withheld*
Location:
Detroit,  MI
Time of Arrival: 7:30am- departed at around 9am
Date: Jan 17th, 2003

I arrived at the INS office in Detroit Michigan at 7:30am. I was directed to the special registration room where I went with my lawyer. Receptionist took my passport and gave me a form which asked for my status in the United States, name, address, credit card information, fathers and mother dob and address in Pakistan, my address in United States and Pakistan.

I was called upon around 8am and was taken to a room where the INS officer took oath and asked for the form. He entered all the information which I had provided on the form. The whole sitting was very cordial and the behavior of the officer was very nice. INS officer took my finger prints, and digital photograph and then gave me a form which lists the ports I can depart from and the date I have to re-appear in case I am in the United States for more then 1 year.

Good Luck to all.
