Council of Pakistan American Affairs

Takes great pleasure in announcing a

TOWNHALL MEETING
On
Friday 24th of  January 2003

At

City Of Torrance
Cultural Arts Center
Meeting Hall
3330 Civic Center Drive
Torrance, CA 90503
1-310-781-7150

Program starts at 6:30 pm (sharp)

Speakers:

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan:  Mian Khurshid  Mehmood Kasuri,
Accompanied by
Ambassador of Pakistan to USA: Mr. Ashraf Jehangir Qazi,
And

Consul General of Pakistan in Los Angeles:  Hon. Raana Rahim.

The recent changes in the Immigration laws in the United States have
severely impacted the immigrant Pakistani community. Certain non-immigrant
Male Nationals from Pakistan, who were born on or before January 13, 1987,
are required to appear at INS to register. There is considerable concern on
the part of these individuals about their rights and representations in this
country.

Working in collaboration with the Consulate of Pakistan in Los Angeles,
COPAA has organized this meeting to allow these concerned individuals to
meet with the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and be able to access the
resources available. This will be an opportunity for you to directly
interact with a high level elected Pakistan Government functionary as well
as the Ambassador of Pakistan and for you to be able to ask questions of
them. Several elected officials who are sympathetic to your cause as well as
INS representatives are expected to attend.

Representatives of organizations (SAN & CAIR), who are offering free
consultations in legal and other matters, will also be present to answer
your queries. This public service is provided to you FREE of cost.
