As you know, the recent earthquake in South Asia has taken the lives 
of and injured tens of thousands of people. We have heard of whole 
villages swallowed. We have heard estimates of a death toll anywhere 
from 20,000 to 40,000 people, with up to 50,000 people injured. 
Millions are now homeless. 

We cannot bring those who have already perished alive. But we can 
work to make the world a better place for all people, regardless of 
skin color or sex, citizenship or class. And we can come together to 
support the survivors. 

We call on you to help in one small way now. Please join us on the 
evening of Saturday, October 22, 2005, to raise money in support of 
the South Asian quake victims. We are committed to maintaining a low 
overhead for the fundraiser and all proceeds of the dinner will go 
directly to support the earthquake victims in the form of supplies, 
medicine, and rebuilding lives. 

Please join us, and invite you friends. Dinner will be served, and 
we will be auctioning off items. 

This is a sliding scale, and we ask that you donate as generously as 
you are able.
