The
"extremist" Pakistan has been a nightmarish issue at the international scene
for years. However, the fact of the matter is that despite all apocalyptic
scenarios presented and debated with regard to Pakistan, the fundamentalist
parties in Pakistan has never been able to gain more than 2-3 seats in any
elected bodies, national or local..
In India, on the contrary, a conglomerate of fascist parties BJP/VHP/ShivSena/RSS/Mahabhasa
roughly commands 200 seats!The
nationalism `Hindutva" that unites all these parties is built onan
initial belief in a primordial Hindu lineage, religious traditionsand
a shared commitment to an authoritarian homogeneity.
Both these values cherished by fundamentalist Hindus in power today
naturallyresult
in actively promoting anti-minorityism.
Aryan leaders of these fascist parties like Lajpat Rai, Servarkar,Advani,
Golwalkar derive their political inspiration from Hitler andMussolini.
Mr. L.K Advani, the current Vice-Prime Minister had amurder
case registered against him by the British authorities justbefore
the national independence in 1947 in a conspiracy to kill M.A.Jinnah,
the founder of Pakistan. Those
interested to know how Aryanism continues to be promoted incontemporary
India must read the book "Hindu Fundamentalism" byChetan
